Samuel (Schmul) ben Jacob, Gugenheimb is mentioned 62 times between 1616 and 1667. He died around 1637. His designation in the Stühlingen family tree is 'G1.2'. His father was Jacob (Jekuff) Patriarch, Gugenheimb.
Samuel ben Jacob was the son of Jacob the Patriarch. He died before Dec.1649 [R1781; 12.02.1649], but his estate matters continue until 1667. Samuel had protection in Stühlingen from 1641 to 1645. Between about 1624 and 1640 he lived in Hallau, Switzerland [R4055; 02.27.1665] (inoffically); according to some sources, this was related to the upheavals related to the 30-Year War [R4069; 10.29.1665]. Nevertheless, Samuel still had some occasional business in Stühlingen during this time. He mainly dealt in horses and cattle. His sons Seeligman and Kalonymos returned eventually to Stühlingen. Seeligman in 1651 and Kalonymos in 1656. Schmul`s wif was probably called Bessle [R1862; 12.07.1651]. The situation is clouded somewhat by other, overlapping individuals with the same Kinnui (Schmul, Schmuli, Schmol etc.). .
