Joseph, Guggenheim - Sandels son-in-law is mentioned 58 times between 1703 and 1740. His designation in the Stühlingen family tree is 'Z9'.
Joseph, the son-in-law of Nathan (Sandel) ben Meir Weyl seems to have initially (1703 - 1710) lived in Sandel`s household, thus not requiring his own letter of protection. From 1711 to 1739 he paid protection tax. Then he moved to live with his son in the Breisgau region [R188; 01.01.1740] . He was a model citizen, never causing any offense. Consequently, we know very little about him. He is named Joseph Gugenheimb, Sandels son-in-law only once [R2988; 09.29.1721]. Strangely, it is for passage tax, rather than for protection tax. All other years he apprears on the protection list. He does not appear to descend from a Stühlingen Gugenheimb family. He could possibly identical to the `Herr Joseph Gugenheimb von Wien (Vienna)` who paid a ceremonial fine in 1700 [R4464; 06.20.1700]. .
