Identified Man

Tree Judah (Leheman) ben Naphtali, Bickert is mentioned 95 times between 1644 and 1686. He died around 1677. His designation in the Stühlingen family tree is 'B1.2.1.1'. His father was Naphtali (Hürtzli ben Raphael, Bickert.

Judah (Leheman) ben Naphtali was Naphtali (Hürtzle`s) son. After their father`s death their mother remarried Jekuff and brought the two sons up in Eberfingen. He was first under protection in 1650, probably under the claim of his deceased father, and then until 1677. In 1672 he became the official guardian of the incompetent Kaiphas. It might point towards a family relationship with the otherwise unconnected Kaiphas. A telling affair occurred in 1658 when Lehman and his brother Samuel (Schmuli) ben Naphtali Birkert were fined for letting their waste water flow towards a common well [R2151; 12.19.1658], suggesting also that the conducted a common household. .
